I decided to do something fun and dedicate this song I wrote to the tune of “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson, to my husband.
Deran is a good guy, and though he really hates yard work, he gets out there and does it. He and I, both being firstborns and mighty stubborn-to-boot, butt-heads periodically, but I am thankful God placed him in my life. We have had a rocky road to hoe, but after almost nine years, I am blessed to say that Deran is now the husband I thought he would be when I married him.
I also thank God for His grace and mercy on our marriage.

Oh boy, this could be my hubby’s theme song too since the grass is growing like crazy with all the rain we’ve had this summer. But he grew up as a city boy and didn’t even have grass, so he actually ENJOYS mowing and being outdoors working in the yard. Good thing — we have 2 1/4 acres of ‘yard.’ :-O
Good thing he likes to mow then! Ah yes, a city boy would enjoy the smell and feel of the outdoors. I enjoy mowing also, but would not enjoy 2 1/4 acres with a push mower! I hope you have a ride-on. I enjoy our self propelled mower for the areas immediately in front and behind our house and my hubby does the rest on the ride-on.
We sure do have a ride-on – a lawn and garden tractor.
We could use a garden tractor too. We have 5 acres, about 2 1/2 treed, the rest either lawn or pasture.

Very clever! My husband and I are also first borns and lawn work is always an issue! Next time my husband complains will have to show him your tune.
You can tell him we have about an acre to mow. Just the thought of that gets my husband in a mood to move!
