Ever since my teen years, I’ve known there resides a writer in me. It has only been the last few years that I’ve slowly unleashed her.
I have had the unrivalled joy of bringing three children into this world and experiencing the love of motherhood. I have also had the crushing blow of attending the funeral of my only son. Since early childhood, life has not always been kind, offering a series of heartbreaking events, then later chronic physical pain; all of which I have been determined to overcome. As many know, life can and does throw us into sharp twists and jagged turns one never expects. It is my conviction that faith in God is the key, and that during harsh times there is only one place to keep your eyes: Jesus. Looking anywhere else may seem like a wonderful distraction, but it will eventually cause your world to spin further out of control. Been there, suffered that.
Hope for the hopeless. That is my deepest desire for this blog. I will be sharing little stories of my personal growth and journey. The posts I write are often also written to myself over my own struggles.
My wish is to encourage and offer hope to those who feel hopeless. For far too long I was a prisoner in the quicksand of hopelessness, sinking deeper with every step. I have cried buckets of tears in the dungeon of despair. Faith, tried by a scorching flame and a renewed dedication in God, has led me to the awakening that God has been a strong presence all along through every trial. Even when I refused to acknowledge Him. Evidence of His love has given me an inner serenity and joy I never thought possible. I am no longer defeated.
Happily married for the second time around, I am blessed to have a husband that loves me. In our humanity, we have a vital need to love and to be loved. Knowing this, God, through Jesus Christ His Son, offers us a supreme kind of love and grace. I am eternally blessed to know that I can love the God of all creation through Jesus and that He Royally loves me! God personally introduced me to this type of love in my late teens, but I really didn’t comprehend or recognize its true potency and life giving power till much later in my life.
Blessings to all,
Elizabeth Yalian

Thank you for ‘liking’ some of my blog posts. After having a look at your blog, I can relate to some of the things you have experienced, your desire to write, your motherhood, your chronic pain, the twists and turns of your life. I would like to nominate you for the Versatile Blogger Award, if you are interested. Not everyone wants them, which is fine.
Thank you for visiting Deborah. I enjoyed your blog. I know what you mean when one is able to relate to others through their writing. There are so many bloggers with amazing blogs! And thank you for the sweet thought of an award. At this time I am not able to spend the time required for it but appreciate it just the same. 🙂
I understand, it is quite time-consuming following up on an award. Have a good weekend.
You too! 🙂
“Follow this blog?” Most definitely!
Welcome! and thank you!
Just wanted to thank you for stopping by our blog and your wonderful comment on my post. God has a wonderful way with second chances. Sometimes, like with me, you have to learn how not to do something before you can be blessed with the real thing. Over the years, God has shown me those are actually Romans 8:28 experiences: His working all things for my good because I love Him.
Keep being His instrument of encouragement. It’s paradoxical, but there can indeed be joy in adversity.
Blessings,
Pastor Sharon
Where would we be without His grace and forgiveness, and oh, let us not forget perseverance! Blessings to you and thanks for visiting!
You are like many who “wander off” from God’s path, but not His notice! The Hebrews writer tells us that God will never leave nor forsake His own. It would do this crazy world good to search Him out instead of tossing Him away.
Thank you for the visit to our site, and for sharing this story. Good luck to you.
Christian
I completely agree! Thank you for stopping by.
You bet, Elizabeth. I have not been a “poster boy” for God at times, and have wondered off track on a few occasions. But with work, along with God’s grace, I hope to be a better Christian man.
Take care,
Christian
It’s a challenge we all face, Christian! All we have to do is look at the history of the people God used in the Bible! Blessings to you!
Absolutely true without question! God has purposes in mind, and He will use all sorts of people to work through to get them done.
Tax collectors, murderers, prostitutes…they have all been called by the Lord for works.
He will always accept us no matter our station in life, but He loves us too much to leave us as he found us!
Enjoy your weekend, Elizabeth.
Christian
Amen!
🙂
Christian
yes, you are a gifted writer! And what an honest transparent testimony… and how fitting to write for the hopeless. I’m definitely following! God’s best to you Elizabeth!
In Christ Always,

Thank you, Marlene! I can say the same about your blog! I am also following. Love that precious little baby picture.

It is His grace that sustains me and that is what I hope to pass on.
Hi Elizabeth. You’ve been such encouragement to me since the very beginning. I wanted to honor you as a sister. There’s a memento here: http://lessonsbyheart.wordpress.com/2013/06/10/wordpress-family-award/ 🙂

Thank you so much! I also have been very blessed by your blog. Another lovely lady, as yourself, has already nominated me for this very award, I am very slow with passing them forward, though. I hope you wont mind me combining my appreciation for both of you at the same time.
You’re free to do with your gift whatever you like. I’m about to become a “No Award Blog,” though. I love to give them, but they take more time than I really have.
Have a blessed day!

Hi Joyce. I made a comment on the link you gave. I am pretty new at blogging so I hope that is okay. Thank you so much for your nomination. As I said in the other comment, I had a very gloomy day wondering if I can really make a difference for others. Your words of encouragement were truly a blessing! I am honored and humbled by your kindness. Blessings to you. Elizabeth
I nominated you for a couple of awards. My post about it is here
http://especiallymade.wordpress.com/2013/03/11/truly-an-honor/
I truly appreciate your encouragement.
Hi Joyce, I was just nominated for another blog award and now understand how it works. Is it too late for me to accept this one? I must admit, I really wasn’t sure what I was supposed to do when I got this one as I had only been blogging for a few weeks, and very new to the blog world. You were so sweet! If it is too late I completely understand. I thought when one was nominated people would be voting for them and when I didn’t hear anything else I figured I didn’t get voted on. Ha! Ha! Silly me! 🙂 Elizabeth
I look forward to reading your blog 🙂
Thank you, Michelle. I hope it can be a blessing to you!
