When Things Get Tough, Hang in There

imageDo you, like me, sometimes

wonder why God even created you?

‘…For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb.

I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Wonderful are Your works,

And my soul knows it very well.

My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret,

And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;…’  Psalm 139: 13-15

Be sure to know, we are loved by Him and are His most passionate creation.

imageHave you felt forgotten by God?

“Are not five sparrows sold for two cents? Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows.”  Luke 12:6-7

imageWhen there is less of us, we must seek more of God.

‘Do you not know? Have you not heard?

The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the

ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired.

His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary,

And to him who lacks might He increases power.

Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly,… ‘

Isaiah  40:28-30

imageAs long as God leaves a breath in your lungs, He has a divine purpose for you.

“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time

we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while

we have opportunity, let us do good to all people,

and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”

Galatians 6:9-10

imageHis reasons for our existence are not always for our own comfort.

If you belong to Jesus, He wants you to leave a changed world behind when

he calls you home, a changed world because you were here and because you are His.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another,

even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

By this all men will know that you are My disciples,

if you have love for one another.”  John 13:34-35

imageKeep your heart focused on Him!

I have endured much and have been through horrendous situations and a thousand sorrows.

A brutally painful childhood, and excruciating marriage, debilitating chronic pain that includes migraines, serious back issues and sciatica, a divorce that left me without child support and stranded with nearly $100,000 of debt I didn’t create; heartbreaking family estrangement, and the death of my only son. I say these things so that you know that I know what I am talking about when I say that at times, life really, really stinks and it’s easy to wonder why God even wakes us up each morning.

Through most of this catastrophe, I have at times been terribly angry at God, and even convinced He had abandoned me. Sometimes, I wanted to abandon Him.  But in retrospect, I see He never, ever left me those times.

His answer doesn’t always come today, but He is faithful.

God’s grace and mercy has never ran out on me. He has blessed me more than I could ever imagine.

I have been on the edge more times than I want to think of.  Each time, God has caught me when I have fallen, and He has taught me how to fly!

If He is willing to do this for me, He is willing to do the same for you!  Make a heart-call on the name of Jesus today!
