You are being watched.
REALLY.
Every day, you are being watched.
I don’t mean Big Brother, Uncle Sam, or the thousands of cameras that are popping up all over our cities. I am not referring to God, though indeed, He does watch us. Continue reading

It is so good to finally get a health warning that is useful!
I don’t know why I didn’t figure this out sooner!
I use shampoo in the shower!
When I awash my hair, the shampoo runs down my whole body.
Printed right on the shampoo bottle label is this warning.
“FOR EXTRA BODY AND VOLUME.”
No wonder I have been gaining weight!
Well, YOU BET I got rid of that shampoo!* Continue reading
It was just another ordinary day in a city of Galilee, named Nazareth; when the young girl, Mary, had a most unusual visit. Luke 1:26 -38
The angel Gabriel came to Mary, who was legally pledged to be married to Joseph. Gabriel told Mary she was most blessed among women and that God had found high favor with her. Of course, Mary was “troubled at his saying”, and wondered, as any of us would, what is going on?
“No worries,” Gabriel said. God would place a baby boy in her womb, she was to name Jesus. He would be the Son of the most High. The King to reign over Israel forever.
Mary said “How shall this be, I am a virgin?” Continue reading
I have never been much for believing in coincidences.
The Bible says that God directs our steps and knows just how many hairs are on our heads, so it is hard for me to imagine Him leaving things to chance.
My son, Jonathan, entered a drawing for a professional photo shoot a couple of years ago and won. Funny thing, Jonathan was always entering contests and seemed to have a knack for winning. He won a beautiful flat big-screen TV from a drawing also before that.
The photo shoot was taken in Spring of 2011.
Just months later, on September 24, 2011, Jonathan was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27. Continue reading
A picture began circulating in November. It should be “The Picture of the Year,” or perhaps, “Picture of the Decade.” It won’t be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the U.S. paper which published it, you probably would never have seen it.
The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifica and would not survive if removed from his mother’s womb. Little Samuel’s mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta. She knew of Dr. Bruner’s remarkable surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb. “Mommy, Mommy, look! That fish is walking on the grass? Look, Mommy!” My young son yelled.
“A. Fish. Is. Walking,” said my oldest daughter Rachel, twisting her face into a puzzled look.
Hannah ran over to me in amazement of the unbelievable sight.
“Mom! The fish’s walking on his head!”
I was puzzled by their statements. My eyes traced my daughter’s pointing arm to the patch of grass on the other side of the running creek, about twenty feet away. There, as plain as day, was a strange sight.
A seven inch sunfish, head down, tail straight up, moved up and down along the grass as if it was walking on its head. Continue reading
When my kids were little, money was always very tight. My then-husband had a great job and made good money. The problem was that he had a hard time letting go of it at home. I was the only adult I knew who received a weekly “allowance” that barely covered groceries but was supposed to also cover haircuts, clothing, shoes, gifts, gas, personal items, and anything in between. The amount of his paychecks was always kept a mystery.
I looked for ways to make extra money. I babysat, sold Avon, and had countless hostess parties like Tupperware and Christmas Around the World. I tried anything I could in order to buy needed things and to buy Christmas and birthdays gifts for my kids.

Happy Thursday!
I thought this picture was precious. There have been times I wish I could get away with doing the same thing!
I realize not everyone who reads this is in the midst of summer. I live in the northwest and though we get snow in the winter, our summer days can get quite warm, lately they have been in the mid 90s. I am more of a mid 70s girl myself. We have had slight humidity which gives you that need-another-shower feeling, but nothing like the suffocating humidity the east coast gets.
How do you survive the dog days of summer?

I sat on the couch with my legs pulled up to my chest much like a child would sit. God was sitting next to me, with his arm around my right shoulder. My other shoulder was tucked in the crook under his arm. My head rested on his chest.
We sat like that together for a very long time. I had the reasoning of an adult, but felt completely protected and cherished, as a child should feel in the arms of a loving daddy.
I wanted to stay there forever and feared breaking the moment, but I just had to ask.
“God, how can You stand it? All the rejection, from people all around the world?”

“Everyone doesn’t reject Me,” He said, “you didn’t.”
“But, there have been so many people throughout time. Millions and millions!” Continue reading
